What is LED? Simple Clear Cut Definition of LED and its type’s u must know!

I will not repeat the old technical boring definition instead I will try to simplify LED definition, LED is an abbreviation which stands for “Light Emitting Diode”,Pronounced as L-E-D, Let’s take a dissection of LED word.
A display technology that utilizes a semiconductor diode that emits light when charged. Now what is a Diode?

Light consists of basic particles called photons (tiny particles of light).
E
mit means to send out or give off.

Diode is a semiconductor device that converts alternating current to direct current.

Simple Types of LED

Multicolor LEDs

A “Multicolor LEDs” is two different LEDs in one case, connected in the same case but in opposite directions. Current flows in one direction produces one color, and current in the other direction produces another color. The switching of two colors with sufficient frequency causes the appearance of a third color.

5 Volt LEDs 12 Volt LEDs

These are LEDs using a series resistor, and can be connected to a 5 V or 12 V supply.

Flash LEDs

Flashing lights are a continuous on-and-off cycle, which repeats. The light does not stay “ON” as long as it stays “OFF”, but each “ON” period is as long as any other “ON” period and each “OFF” period match all other “OFF” periods.

Color LEDs by usage

Colored LEDs looks so beautiful and attractive that it catches you eyes, and it used for specific purposes

White LED promotes purity, cleanliness, and neutrality. It gives a wide look if you use it for interior decoration.

Blue LED is the overwhelming favorite, it’s the color of sky and the ocean, it is perceived as a constant in our lives.

Green LED covers more space in the spectrum visible to the human naked eye and is second to blue as a favorite color. Green promotes natural environment, it is widely used in gardens decoration and

The application of LEDs is from home decoration to offices to industries, you name it is replacing every lighting technology.
